Changzhou is located in the southern part of the Jiangsu Province, which is adjacent to the metropolitan city of Shanghai. Changzhou has become one of the fastest growing and most competitive developing cities along the east coast of China. Changzhou is also an ancient cultural center with a history spanning over 2,500 years. The city covers a total area of 4,375 square kilometers and has a population of 3.4 million. It is close to Shanghai (160 km), Nanjing (110 km) and Hangzhou (210 km).

    Jiangsu Province is the most prosperous region in China with a GDP growth rate of about 11.2%. It has approximately 74 million inhabitants - the highest population density in China.

    At present, foreign investors from 73 countries and Regions have invested in Changzhou. 22 of the top foreign companies such as GE, Goodyear, Mettler-Toledo, Bosch Rexroth, F & G, Karl Mayer, Valinox, S & I, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Hyundai have set up factories in Changzhou. At the year of 2004,GDP of Changzhou reached 110 billion RMB, while the Inustrial output reached 255 billion RMB, 27.7% higher than 2003. Also in 2004, Import & Export T/O of Changzhou was 6.91 billion USD,31.5% increased.

    Wujin Hi-Tech Industrial Zone (WIZ) is located in the southern part of Changzhou. It was approved in 1996 by Jiangsu Government. It has a total planning area of 100 square kilometers. Electronics Information, new materials and machinery have taken shape. In 2004, Business income of Wujin Hi-tech Industrial Zone (WIZ) has reached RMB 20 billion with a 60% increase than last year. Wujin Hi-tech Industrial Zone ( WIZ) is connected to major cities in China and other parts of the world through a well developed expressway, railway, waterway and air transportation networks.

    Motor Way: Direct access to the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and Lianshan Expressway between Shanghai and Nanjing.
    Port: The Changzhou Yangtze port is located on the north of Changzhou City and is the first class port that is accessible to vessels weighing over 30,000 tons.
    Airport: 20 domestic flight destinations including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen etc.
    Railway: About 80 long distance trains per day via the Changzhou Railway Station (Shanghai-Nanjing Railway). Shanghai-Beijing train-express is on planning.
